The two 2 spotting scopes and 5 binoculars have finally arrived on Union Island! This is great news for the Attackers, and will really kick off the birding group and the training for bird monitoring at Ashton Lagoon.

Many thanks to Lisa Sorenson of the Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds for donating the binoculars, to Joni Ellis of Optics for the Tropics for the grant for the 2 spotting scopes, and to Katrina Collins for her relentless efforts.

The attackers will have a workshop on Thursday June 10th about how to use and maintain the equipment, and more about implementing the monitoring program.

These grants really demonstrate the power of civil society to mobilize resources and create opportunities for the benefit of Caribbean people and the environment.
